Timers are a useful way to keep track of your working hours. That way, you don’t have to rely on your memory. You can add multiple timers and toggle among them throughout your day as you switch projects.
This article will show you how to start a timer and manage it. You’ll learn how to:
*Delete a timer.
- Click on the clock icon near the top-right of your navigation bar.
- Click Add/Start Timer. The time will start immediately, and you’ll be directed to a new window where you can add timer details.
- Add details to your timer.
- Click Save to save your work.
Follow this process to add more timers. Although you can add many timers, only one timer will run at a given time.
Pause, Edit, and Delete a Timer
Undoubtedly, you’ll find yourself pausing, editing, and even deleting timers as you work. Let’s go through your options.
Pause and Edit a Timer
Click on the Timer icon on your navigation bar and click on the timer that’s running.
Click Pause Timer.
You may need to pause a timer so you can step out for lunch. Or you may need to pause a timer so you can make edits to it.
To do so, click the down arrow next to Pause Timer and choose to Pause+Edit. This will pause the time and allow you to make edits before being directed back to your list of timers.
If you make changes click Save to save your work. When you’re ready to resume the timer, click Start Timer.
Delete a Timer
You can delete a timer that’s paused or currently running. Just click on a timer that you want to delete in your list of timers, and click Delete.
When you delete a timer, you not only remove it permanently from your list of timers. You also delete the time associated with it.
If you want to export the time to your timesheet and delete the timer, then you want to use the remove feature to remove the timer. To do so, click on the white triangle next to Save and select Remove from the picklist.
This will add the time to your timesheet and delete the timer from your list of timers.
