How to Export Your Project Dashboard and Individual Projects

Capture the status of your Project Dashboard by exporting it to a PDF or Excel document. That way, you can see all of your projects and project-related information, like billing statuses. Then, share this information with staffers or clients. You can also export an individual project to capture the activities associated with it.

This article will explain both options: how to export your Project Dashboard and how to export an individual project. We’ll also explain how you can customize your dashboard before you export it, if you wish.

Export Your Project Dashboard

Follow the steps below to learn how to export your entire Project Dashboard.

First, click My Company...Project List from your navigation bar to get to your Project Dashboard.

Then, click Export and a short picklist will populate. Select PDF, to generate a PDF document, or select XLS, to generate an Excel document.

Customize Your Project Dashboard

The image below shows our Project Dashboard as it stands right now, but we can customize it to add or remove information before we export it. This is worth doing when you want to share specific information with a client or staffer. We’ll explain these options next.

Check the box next to Include Inactive/Completed projects, near the top of your window, to do just that. Your Dashboard will populate with all of your inactive and completed projects.

Click on the gear icon to add or remove columns to your Dashboard.

A picklist will populate, and here’s what you need to know:

  • Selected Fields at the top of the list shows you the fields currently displayed on your Dashboard. Uncheck a box to remove a field. Plus, you can change the column order by clicking on the intersecting arrows, to the right of a field like “type,” and drag and drop the field where you’d like it to appear. For example, we can move “type” above “current status.”
  • Add more columns by checking boxes next to a field(s) below the Selected Fields section.
  • Click Apply to apply your changes.

Export an Individual Project

To export an individual project, you’ll need to navigate to your Project Dashboard (explained in the section above). Then, click on a project. Doing so will take you into the Dashboard for that specific project.

Select the Activity tab, near the far-right of your window. This will show you the activities associated with this project.

Click Export to export this information into a PDF or Excel document. A picklist will populate and you’ll make your selection: PDF, to generate a PDF, or XLS, to generate an Excel document.

Here, too, you can customize your dashboard before you export it. Click the box next to Show completed to show completed activities.

You can also add or remove columns by clicking on the gear icon.

A picklist will populate, and here’s what you need to know:

  • Selected Fields at the top of the list shows you the fields currently displayed. Uncheck a box to remove it. Or to change the column order click on the intersecting arrows and drag and drop the field.
  • Add more columns by selecting any fields below the Selected Fields section.
  • Click Apply to apply your changes.
