Copy Allocations in Resource Allocation

Save yourself some time and copy allocations in Resource Allocation from one project to another. This article will show you how.

  1. Click My Company...Project List from your navigation bar.

  2. Select a project.

NOTE: Ideally, you want to select a project that has the same tasks as the project that you’ll copy from (see step 5). For example, in this step we’re selecting our Putman Associates project (see image below), which has the same project template (ie, matching tasks) as the project that we copy from in step 5. Otherwise, copy the tasks from a previous project and select that project. The point is to at least have the tasks matching.

  3. Click the Tasks tab, and then click Allocations.

  4. Click the Copy button, near the bottom-left of your window.

  5. Select the project that you want to copy from. Under the “Project” header, click on the red triangle and select a project. Then, click into the textbox under “Start Date” and select a date from the calendar that populates.

  6. Click OK.

You’ll see a small window that’ll confirm this action. Click “yes” to copy.
